We are a traditional
Franciscan family of friars, sisters of the First Order and Brothers
and Sisters of the Third Order Secular.
The friars and sisters of the First Order follow the customary and Rule of the Third Order Regular and wear a traditional Franciscan Habit and take the three traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. The Brothers and Sisters of the Third Order Secular follow their Rule of Life and on special days, wear part of the full habit. Above all, our Franciscan family is a family of prayer, striving to follow in the footsteps of our Holy and Seraphic Father, St. Francis. Our aim is to become walking examples of the Holy Gospel with hearts aflame with the love of Christ for a broken humanity. Wherever we may find ourselves, our special mission is to bring the love, joy, peace, and humility of Christ and St. Francis into the vineyard that God has placed us. We are eager to give of ourselves in the service of our fellow brothers and sisters, and especially those who are in need, difficulties, pain or sorrow. We must always have our arms open to embrace the poor, the destitute and the inconsolable. In short, we must without hesitation, be ready to enfold any and all with the love of Christ working in us. We are a community without walls, living the simple life as taught by St. Francis, praying, and helping others, as though they were Christ himself. “What ye do unto these the least of my brethren, ye do onto me”.
